South Texas Eyes Institute

South Texas Eye Institute surpasses any other group we’ve had the privilege of collaborating with when it comes to generosity. During a casual lunch conversation, when Fred expressed his passion for Breast Cancer Awareness month (October) and his desire to do something meaningful, Dr. Lisa Marten and her husband Jorge immediately jumped on board without any hesitation. There was no need for Fred to convince them; they were fully committed from the start.

Both South Texas Eye Institute (STEI) and Fred recognized the opportunity to involve other stakeholders. Given Fred’s recent arrival in San Antonio and limited connections, he reached out to Sandra Day O’Conner High School (where he had previously taught) and Hungry Howie’s, leveraging the relationships he knew best.

The collaborative effort turned out to be an incredible experience for all parties involved. Dr. Marten and her courageous team at STEI have actively participated in numerous other initiatives aimed at giving back to the community. Their unwavering commitment shines through in each project they undertake.
